Brian Ryan qualified in 1984 and after six years working in the UK returned to join Mulcair Vets. Brian is the senior partner and equine vet at Mulcair Vets. His areas of interest are equine reproduction and bovine herd health.

Sean Coffey qualified in 1998 and worked at Mulcair Vets until 2000. He then took at post at a small animal practice in Sheffield until 2002 when he returned home from the UK again to Mulcair vets and has worked there since. He became a partner in 2005. Sean has an interest in Small Animal Medicine. He has three cats; Sooty, Flannon & Claude and two terriers, Paudie & Peggie.

John Berkery qualified in 2002 and has been working with Mulcair Vets since. John’s interests include Large Animal Medicine & Surgery. He has completed a Graduate Certificate in Dairy Herd Health. John also enjoys history, politics and storytelling. John and his family have two dogs and one cat, Oisin, Bo and Puss.

Anna Nolan qualified in 1984 and after 6 years working in the UK returned to Mulcair Vet Clinic where she has worked ever since. Anna has an interest in Small Animal Surgery. She has 2 dogs, Ben and Ella.

James Daly is from Effin, Co Limerick where he lives on the family’s dairy farm. He qualified in 2010 from UCD vet college. James worked in mixed practice in Mallow for 18 months until he joined Mulcair vets in Jan 2012. He is studying for his Graduate Certificate in Dairy Herd Health.

Rachel Daly is from Belfast. She qualified in 2012 from UCD vet college. She worked in Monaghan and Cork as a farm animal vet before settling in Cappamore. Rachel is studying for her Graduate Certificate in Dairy Herd Health and has a keen interest in small animal medicine and surgery.

Eoin Daly is from Galway. He qualified from UCD in 2014 and has worked at Mulcair Vets since. His interests are in cattle & ovine (sheep) medicine and in ultrasound scanning for fertility in cattle.

Liam Walsh is from Waterford where he was brought up on a dairy farm. He qualified from UCD vet college in 2016. He joined Mulcair Vets subsequently and has developed an interest in Bovine Herd Health.

Andrew Tanner is from Bandon, Co Cork where he was brought up on a dairy farm. He qualified from UCD vet college in 2016. He joined Mulcair Vets subsequently and enjoys dealing with Bovine Medical Cases.

Veterinary Nurses

Cathriona Murphy qualified as a Veterinary Nurse from UCD Vet School in 2009. She has spent most of her training period and working life with Vincent Ireton MVB MRCVS at his Clare Street Pet Clinic. She is from Lackamore in Newport where she was raised on a farm. She has a cat but also has a keen eye for pedigree Hereford cattle.

Michael Meehan is our Cappamore Veterinary Nurse. Michael has worked with Mulcair Vets for many years since his student days in 2004. He qualified in Veterinary Nursing in 2007 from Athlone Institute of Technology. Michael has a special interest in everything avian. He has owned and bred birds all his life and has a great knowledge of their husbandry needs. Michael also runs our parasitology lab in Cappamore. He is also a proud owner of an Irish Water Spaniel called Buffy.

Edel Lillis is our Newport Veterinary Nurse. She trained at Mulcair Vets during her veterinary nursing education and came back to work at Mulcair Vets when she qualified in 2016 from Athlone Institute of Technology. She is from Borrisokane. One of her patients, Blackie’, a Labrador won Hill’s Pet Slimmer of the Year Award in 2016.

Administrative Staff

Mandy Moroney hails from Cappamore itself. She came to work at Mulcair Vets during her school summer holidays in 2002 and returned to work full time after her Leaving Cert and has worked consistently since and now controls all the accounts at Mulcair Vets. Mandy and her family have always owned horses and dogs.

Margaret O' Sullivan hails from Newport and is the ever-present staff member in our Newport office of Mulcair Vets dealing with all the farmer inquiries and accounts.

Josephine Lee has worked at Mulcair Vets since 2008 and works with both the small and large animal clients in our Cappamore office. Josephine and her husband, John, have a small farm with cattle but they also keep hens and birds.

Susan O’Donoghue has worked for Mulcair Vets for the past 4 years. She is from Cappamore. She is involved with Xlvets office as well as working front of house in Cappamore.

Kieran McCabe is Operations Manager for Mulcair Vets. He coordinates vets and acts as a go between vet and client. He organises lab results, gathers treatments and then facilitates distribution of products to clients. He is from Newport originally. He had a similar role in a veterinary practice in the South Island of New Zealand while working there for over 3 years from 2012 to 2015.
